Absolutely stunning, avante garde work of wearable art by Taxco, Mexico master silversmith Antonio Pineda! In top quality 970 purity silver, this circa 1960s brooch is in the whimsical form of amethyst cabochon peas set in a silver pod. An amazing piece!
Marks: Crown mark for Antonio Pineda and Eagle 17; Further stamped: Silver / Hecho en Mexico / 970 / PR 571
Measurements: approximately 3.5"L x 1.5"W, total weight 28 grams.
Overall excellent vintage condition with minor surface scratches commensurate with age and use. The amethysts have eye-visible inclusions and surface-reaching fractures as is typical of Pineda's works.
