Art Deco Platinum Diamond & Aquamarine Brooch

About the Item

This stunning Art Deco brooch pin has been crafted from platinum and set with bright aquamarines and old cut diamonds. The central aquamarine is an emerald cut stone weighing 8.10 carats that has been rubover set. To the corners of the brooch are a further four aquamarines, these being baguette cut stones finished with a millegrain edge. The balance of the openwork brooch is set with eighty eight old cut diamonds each of H colour and SI clarity, totalling 1.50 carats. To the rear of the brooch is a yellow gold hinged pin with a platinum hook type clasp with safety catch, which are both working well and are secure. Whilst unmarked, the pin which dates to the 1920s likely originates from the United States, a perfect example of a 'Gatsby' era jewel.
