Edwardian enameled purple Pansy convertible brooch. Beautiful three-dimensional Pansy flower, created in America during the Edwardian and the Art Nouveau periods, back in the 1900-1910. This beautiful convertible pendant brooch has been carefully crafted in solid yellow gold of 14 karats with satin frosted finish and embellished with applications of non glossy powder enamel with a color gradations of purple and white. The enamel work is exceptional and meticulous, far exceeding the details of the fibers and veins of the leaves. It is a little jewel with exquisite and exceptional details, Pansies symbolize a hope that love should not be forgotten. Suited at the reverse with a horizontal hinged pin bar and a mechanical hook to wear as a brooch and a round loop to wear in a chain as a pendant. Pearl: Accented in the center with one natural round white pearl of 4 mm. Weight: 7.45 Grams (4.78 Dwt). Measurements: 26 mm by 25 mm by 5 mm (1.02 x 1.0 x 0.19 Inches). Hallmarks: Stamped with the maker's mark monogram, the gold assay mark and signed "CI 14KT". Note: The Edwardian Jewelry Period was during the King Edward VII, after whom this period of jewelry history is named, reigned over England for only nine years, yet the style of jewelry known as “Edwardian” was created roughly between 1890 and 1920.
