Belle Époque Antique Sapphire Tourmaline Gold Trefoil Brooch
About the Item
Circa 1890s
The leaves of this gold trefoil brooch are set with an excellent vivid blue sapphire and two tourmalines – pinkish purple and deep green. The brooch is embellished with small rose cut diamonds and a red spinel. The border is outlined by white enamel.
The sapphire measures 7.23 x 6.78 x 6.1 mm and is approximately 2.63 ct.
Estimated weight of the tourmalines: purple – 1.85 ct, green – 1.50 ct.
