Brooch Natural River Pearls, Circa 1940s-1950s

About the Item

Whimsical and elegant, this highly detailed brooch was skilfully, artistically created entirely by hand in the middle of the previous century (circa 1940s-1950s). Crafted in 18K yellow gold that has been heavily worked, etched by hand to create the texture of feathers. The body of the swan and the beak are created from gleaming, white natural river pearls. The elongated shapes of the pearls are perfect stand-ins for the plush feathered body of a swan. A tiny diamond eye glitters. The brooch measures 47.56" tall by 51.69mm wide. There's a trombone clasp on the rear that leaves enough room for the brooch to be worn as a pendant. The brooch weighs just over 22 grams, so it's nice and weighty.
