This beautiful and rare dangling brooch was made in the 1970s by one of Line Vautrin's students. The brown Talosel framing boasts an encrusted geometric form with honey amber resin cabochons on a silver foil background. The brooch has a security closing clasp at the back. There is no visible designer's mark. The brooch is in excellent condition, with minor wear consistent with age and use. Dimensions: 1.69 in wide (4.2 cm) x 3.07 in long (7.8 cm). In the 1970s, the boutique Line Vautrin opened on the left bank in Paris and is doing well, but Line is a designer, not a manager, and she needs to be in the creation process. She plans to open and lead a school where she will teach her manufacturing processes. Her daughter, Marie-Laure Bonnaud-Vautrin, taught there for ten years. This fine and impressive vintage brooch has been crafted in 18k yellow gold with 18k white gold settings. The brooch has been realistically modelled in the form of a flower basket. The basket is comprised of a flared pierced decorated body with rope twist decoration to the handle and rims. The impressive basket design incorporates thirteen individually claw set round faceted cut zircons, ranging in color and totalling 13.65cts. The spray setting features three individually white gold claw set eight cut diamonds.
