Gothic Revival Diamond Star Brooch

About the Item

Circa 1890s, Silver over 18k, French Import hallmarks. This dazzling antique brooch features 2.40 carats of brilliant white diamonds in an unusual Gothic Revival star motif. Superb detail underscored by fine hand fabrication and sublime rose-cut and European-cut diamonds complete the visual narrative. Excellent condition. Remark: "Brooches have become the exception instead of the rule. However, there is no question that they add something extra to any look. In fashion, I love the exception, the unexpected. Whether understated or in-your-face, it is the exceptional that is the foundation of a signature look." Second Remark: "Check the Oscars boys …brooches are the new watch, more perfect for men's threads than women's, and this star is particularly fit." Located in Litchfield, CT
Circa 1880s, 18k. This mysterious antique locket features an elaborate Gothic hinge, a stunning functional decoration. It is as though a secret or a precious is locked inside. The ideal place for pictures, the interior folds outward to hold five. The visual contrast of the warmer pink gold hinge against the yellow 18k body completes the look. One more secret … the hinge is a hidden Fleur-de-Lis so it is most likely French with the hallmarks lost to time! Excellent condition. Noted: The chain shown is a separate item. Remark: “Always in style, lockets are perfect for today's gamine Victorian revival styles; think "The Vampires Wife...
