A late Victorian dachshund stick-pin, the realistically carved dog made in yellow gold, with gold pin fitting, circa 1900, unmarked, tested as 14ct gold with 18ct gold pin, measuring 2.1 x 1cm, the pin measuring 6.5cm long, gross weight 3.7grams. This antique pin is in very good condition for its age. Unmarked, tested as 14ct gold with 18ct gold pin. A sweet late Victorian dachshund stickpin. Dachshunds were initially bred to chase and flush out badgers from their sets. Dachshunds have been seen as the symbol of Germany and were chosen to be the official mascot for the Summer Olympics in Munich in 1972.
