Mid-Century Colombian Emerald Diamond Three Stone Engagement Ring Platinum 1950s

About the Item

Mid-Century certified Colombian emerald and diamond three-stone engagement ring in platinum, Portuguese, 1950s/1960s, Cased. This ring features an octagonal-cut emerald of a vivid green color claw-set to the center, flanked on each side by a similarly-set round brilliant-cut diamond, all stones in open-back settings with open double galleries, flowing through to a wirework platinum shank with split openwork shoulders. Emerald: Accompanied by a GCS report stating 1.30 carats, vstbG (17) 5/6 AAA color, Colombia, minor clarity enhancement (F1). Diamonds: estimated 1.05ct (approximately 6.53 x 6.53 x 3.89 mm) and 1.06ct (approximately 6.61 x 6.61 x 3.81 mm); H/I color (assessed); VS clarity (assessed). Lisbon hallmark “falcon head” (used 1938-1998) for platinum and "rooster head facing right" (used 1938-1984) for gem-set jewelry; unidentified maker's mark for a Portuguese jeweler. Finger size: 52 (EU), but it could be sized up or down. Gross weight: 5.99g. This item is in good condition, with marks and scratches consistent with general age and wear.
