Mid-Century Diamond Swirl Double-Clip Brooch Convertible Platinum 1950s 1960s
About the Item
Mid-Century diamond swirl double-clip convertible brooch in platinum, 1950s/1960s. Double-clip brooches first captivated the world in the 1930s—a golden era of innovation, elegance and glamour in jewelry design. These versatile treasures could transform from a striking brooch into two matching dress clips, offering limitless styling possibilities. Adored by Hollywood icons like Joan Crawford and Marlene Dietrich, they became synonymous with sophistication and timeless style.
This exquisite mid-century piece embodies that legacy. Crafted in platinum and set with a dazzling array of round brilliant-cut, single-cut, and baguette-cut diamonds, it splits into two swirling clips. Each is fitted with double-prong hinged mechanisms, giving you the choice to pin or clip without perforating your fabric.
Queen Elizabeth II, a true style icon, often wore double-clip brooches, and the trend continues today with modern stars like Cate Blanchett and Sarah Jessica Parker embracing their vintage charm. Owning this brooch is like wearing a piece of cinematic history—effortlessly chic, eternally stylish.

Vintage Diamond Blossom Convertible Double Clip Brooch
Located in New York, NY
Although made in the late 20th century, circa 1990s, this Vintage Diamond Blossom Convertible Double Clip Brooch is expertly hand fabricated with the same rigorous attention paid to the details of its Jazz Age counterparts. The piece appears to be a spectacularly bejeweled brooch, but it is actually referencing an Art Deco-era Double Clip Convertible Brooch. Two detachable halves are symmetrical like a playing card—a detail that creates lyrical movement as the eye traces a figure-eight around the design. The 3 x 2 inch (7.62 x 5.08 cm) double floral brooch is crafted in 18K white and yellow gold and set with round diamonds weighing approximately 18.00 carats total of G-H colors and VVS to VS clarity. The floral centers are comprised of pleasing grids of round canary yellow diamonds weighing approximately 11.50 carats total, ranging from Fancy Vivid...
