15 Karat Yellow Gold, Silver, Natural Pearl, and Diamond Brooch Pendant
About the Item
An incredible Edwardian bow brooch with detachable natural pearl drop pendant. The 15 karat yellow gold piece is silver topped and is set with old mine and rose cut diamonds of G/H colour and VS-SI clarity totalling 1.17 carat. The largest stone which is set centrally weighs an approximate 0.23 carat and is old mine cut. Attached to the rear is a natural pearl drop set with white pique diamonds in a vine like spiral setting. This pearl drop is detachable and allows the pendant to be slid onto a very fine chain and be worn as a necklace. The pearl drop has an accompanying laboratory report stating it to be 'creamy white hue, good lustre and very lightly blemished'. The clasp to the rear of the brooch has a 'C' style closure and the pendant 'hook' has a small safety catch to prevent it sliding off on its own accord. Dating to the early 20th century during the reign of King Edward VII, this is an absolutely beautiful example of Edwardian period jewellery and showcases a beautiful natural pearl.
