Rare Art Deco Drayson Emerald, Sapphire and Diamond Suite in Platinum
About the Item
A rare vintage Art Deco Drayson emerald, sapphire and diamond brooch, earring and ring suite set in platinum.
This visually staggering suite is composed of a ring, earrings and a convertible clip brooch; all of which are perfectly complimentary of one another. Firstly, the brooch depicts a bow/knot motif and is set throughout with eight cut and baguette cut diamonds. ‘Ribbons’ of channel set emeralds and sapphire travel down the brooch elegantly and the colour contrast is truly superb. The brooch is composed from a simple brooch fitting that has been handcrafted to perfectly fit the two clips sides. The clip allows the two ends of the brooch to be separated and worn in different positions.
Complimenting the brooch is a matching ring and earrings designed to echo the design of the spectacular clip brooch. The earrings are secured to reverse with a post and clip fitting.
The beauty of this suite all lies with the design. The design reflects that of the Art Deco era displaying pure elegance with fine platinum metal work. The vibrancy of the sapphires and emeralds against the diamonds is superb and stands out beautifully. Due to the brooch being convertible this gives the wearer that versatility to wear and enjoy the piece multiple ways.
Being Art Deco, only few, if not only one of these suites would have been made making this piece a true one of a kind exclusive!
Weights:
· Within the brooch, there is an estimated total diamond weight of 4.42 carats, ranging from F-I in colour with VVS-VS clarity. There is an estimated total sapphire weight of 2.96 carats, all of which being perfectly matched in colouring. Lastly there is an estimated emerald weight of 3.60 carats.
· Within the earrings there is a total diamond weight of 1.83 carats ranging from F-I in colour with VVS-VS clarity. There is a total sapphire weight of 0.40 carats, and a total emerald weight of 0.96 carats.
· Within the ring there is a total diamond weight of 0.50 carats, ranging from F-I in colour with VVS-VS clarity. Total emerald weight of 0.84 carats, and a total sapphire weight of 0.84 carats.
When pieced together, the brooch measures 5.9 x 6.3 (from the widest parts) and there is a total weight of 55.7 grams. Typical of the era, the brooch is not hallmarked but has been tested for platinum. Every piece within the suite is signed DRAYSON LONDON.
