About the Item
An sculptural brooch designed by Tod Pardon.
This is an sculptural brooch created by the artist Tod Pardon, back in the 1993. The rare elusive piece of arts has been crafted with abstract patterns in solid .925/.999 sterling silver and parts in yellow gold of 14 karats with polished, textured and brushed finishes. The piece is embellished with a beautiful inlaid setting composed by different carvings of turquoise, agate, onyx, a garnet and white hardstone. The brooch is fitted at the reverse with a hinged pin bar with a security mechanical lock.

Hallmarks: Stamped with the maker's mark, the mark for the assay and warranty of the silver and the gold, the five-digits serial numbers, the tittle of the art-piece and signed in full as follows, "TOD PARDON STERLING 14KT14293 THE PRODUCER".
Tod Pardon
Tod Pardon wanted a career distinct from that of his father, jewelry artist Earl Pardon, and so pursued painting and ceramics. Tod eventually agreed to apprentice with his father, learning a variety of jewelry and metalsmithing techniques and working with gold foil, glass beads, and painted glass. Father and son jewelers and sculptors, Earl and Tod Pardon belong to generations of jewelers and metalsmiths who spawned the studio jewelry movement in America. Many pieces of Tod Pardon reflect the influence of his father, Earl Pardon’s, signature style dating back to the 1950s to the early 1990s. The artist’s often abstract compositions in an opulent colorful palette through enameling, as well as various natural materials including abalone shell, precious metals, gemstones, ivory and ebony. Both, known for inventively combining the sensibilities of a jeweler & the craftsmanship of a sculptor, the work of art by Pardon spark a contemporary, modernist perspective with a kaleidoscope of masterful design.
