Victorian Intricate Gold, Enamel, Pearl and Diamond Sword Brooches
About the Item
The main attraction to this pair of sword brooches is the extraordinary enamel and amazing detail applied to the sword hilts and bodies of the brooches. The larger 4 7/8 inch sword has a diamond set eagle at the handle. Below is another eagle in gold on blue enamel. Then the sword itself is topped with a tiny eagle plus what may be shields. The sword keeper repeats some of the motifs and adds more in gold on blue enamel. The reverse has a plumed bird under the eagle handle and lower gold engraving. The smaller sword measures 3 inches in length. It is the same eagle handle this time set with three small diamonds. Below is the eagle shield. The sword keep is engraved with blue enamel on gold. The amount of time spent on workmanship and detail to jewelry large or small is a strong characteristic of antique jewelry. These swords are gender neutral. Wear as you creativity dictates.
