About the Item
An elegant, mid-century brooch by famed Beverly Hills jewelry designer, William RUSER. It has been hand wrought in platinum and set with approximately 5.83cttw in F-G color Vs1-2 clarity transitional cut round and breathtaking baguette diamonds. The brooch has a beautifully organic leaf/vine design and can be worn in many positions. A gorgeous piece of American jewelry making history.
Dimensions/Weight:
Brooch measures 2” by 1.25” and weighs 19.9g.
Condition:
All stones are secure and makers marks are present and legible and photographed.
About the designer:
The renowned Beverly Hills jeweler, William Ruser, got his start in the jewelry industry by working for Trabert and Hoeffer-Mauboussin in Atlantic City. While he was working at that company, he bought up several boxes of American freshwater pearls, also known as Mississippi freshwater pearls, from a button maker in Mississippi. These boxes of interestingly textured and baroque style pearls went unused for quite some time. In the late 1930s, Ruser was transferred by the company to Los Angeles, where he would manage their California location for several more years.
