A late Georgian gold and gemset brooch, the brooch comprising ornately-carved foliate motifs in yellow and rose gold, set with three pear-shaped blue topaz and suspending a pear-shaped pink topaz drop, all set in yellow gold to a closed back and brooch fitting, circa 1830, measuring approximately 4.7 x 2.7cm, gross weight 5.5 grams. Unmarked tested as 15ct gold and 9ct gold pin and catch. A Georgian brooch in very good condition. This lovely and naturalistic brooch comes from the collection of Bentley & Skinner, the London jewellers by appointment to both Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales. Wonderful Art Deco Diamond and Emerald brooch from the 1930's, set in platinum by Ostertag, France. This lovely design is very reminiscent of Coco Chanel's logo who was his neighbor in the period, where he was located at 16 Place Vendome. Conjoined "C" motifs are are laid with a ladder of diamond baguettes edged with round stones terminating in 2 large diamonds (over 1 carat each) on one end and large fluted Columbian teardrops with tiny pave ball caps on the other. A late Victorian demantoid garnet and diamond brooch, the naturalistically modelled lizard encrusted with rose-cut diamonds and embellished to the spine with a row of nine graduated oval mixed-cut demantoid garnets, all silver set to a yellow gold mount, circa 1890, measuring approximately 6x1.9cm, gross weight 6.3 grams. Brooches in the shape of naturalistically formed insects and reptiles became popular in the late nineteenth century, and this realistically crafted lizard is a wonderful example of this style.
