About the Item

These statement cufflinks are designed and made in our Northern Irish workshop. These large one-of-a-kind blue-green Chrysocolla stones have been made into dome-shaped cabochon cufflinks - each stone having a weight of 24 carats and measuring 18 mm in diameter by 12 mm high. Only the Chrysocolla stones show on the outer side of the cuffs - the links having been counter-struck into the back of the stone by cutting into it, creating a flush set with the back of the stone. Made by hand in our family run Northern Irish jewellery workshop. Inspired by the timeless simplicity of a family heirloom, we established our stone carving and jewellery making studio in 2009. We create pieces of timeless quality with a simple uncluttered aesthetic, capturing the alchemy of our hand selected gem and semi precious stones. Chrysocolla is a blue-green chalcedony gemstone, found in areas where copper is present. This is a Studio piece in a limited edition of one, using a stone collected by the maker from Peru. Chrysocolla which is greenish turquoise in colour is one of the natural birthstones of those born in spring; it is a zodiac stone for Taurus, Gemini, and Virgo. It is said to soothe, calm and inspire. The colour alone is soothing, reminding one of the sea or a mountain top. Alistair R cufflinks are made to a bespoke casting. The link is cast out of a single piece of silver with no moving parts and is designed to be easy to put on and sit comfortably all day. The back of the cufflink easily pushes though a shirt cuff and its arched 'A' shape ensures the cufflinks always sit correctly aligned and securely. These striking contemporary cufflinks are made in 925 sterling silver and hallmarked in Birmingham with our unique maker's mark. Cufflinks are shipped in a cufflink box, with an elegant gift envelope and gift card enclosed.
