About the Item

This spectacular pair of Art Deco era cufflinks feature six alternating panels of 18K rose and white gold, each deeply embossed with a wave texture. An 18k rose gold fastener joins the 13.14 mm x 8.46 mm faces of each cufflink to a branch of natural ox-blood red Mediterranean branch coral. Each branch of coral is drilled with a hole in the center, through which gold wire is treaded. A bead at the end of the wire keeps the coral branches safe and secure. One coral branch measures approximately 13.74 mm and the other 15.71 mm. These are spectacularly posh cufflinks and the slender coral branch will slip through many different sizes of buttonholes making these one-of-a-kind art deco cufflinks perfectly unisex. The cufflinks are in excellent condition. The coral is so fine, I at first thought they were simulated coral; glass or bakelite. And that's the funny thing about very fine quality gems: they often look fake. But the coral is as real as it comes and both branches are highly polished and without nicks or chips. Distinctive without being outlandish, classy without being boring, these two-tone gold and coral cufflinks are a real find. Each cufflinks has a metal purity stamp of "750" on the gold connector that joins the panel with the branch. I could find no evidence of a maker's mark. The workmanship is first-rate and I would not be surprised if these cufflinks were Italian in origin. Together the pair weighs 5.45 grams so they won't bang against your desk.

Cufflinks English Victorian Essex Crystal
Located in Southbury, CT
Carved crystal cabochons are painted on the reverse to portray two little black and white terriers. Perhaps the only thing more wonderful in the world than a pair of carved crystal cufflinks from England depicting man's best friend is a pair of carved crystal cufflinks from England depicting man's best friend in a beastly mood. Which is why I laugh every time I look at these cufflinks. From a distance, they're quite sophisticated. Perfectly appropriate for a weekend at Balmoral, should you ever receive an invitation. Only upon closer inspection can you see the tiny little frowns on each dog's face. In addition, the eyes look wide open in shock or alarm, as if the food bowl has inexplicably levitated from the floor and is now hovering above the refrigerator, entirely out of reach. The crystals have a diameter of approximately 15.66 mm and the gold toggles 25.64 mm long by 5.96 mm at their widest point, so these cufflinks should fit a range of different-sized holes. I live with three dogs myself so I am admittedly biased, but these antique English cufflinks are, I think, maybe the greatest pair of cufflinks ever created. They even come in their original box. Made near 1860, the cufflinks are hallmarked "WJH." The 18K metal fineness mark and other assay marks are less legible. The fact that these cufflinks have remained with their original and quite clever (you'll see when you remove the 'links) case is surely one of the reasons they are in such fine condition. I have passed on so many pairs of canine and equestrian-themed Essex crystal...

A spectacular and utterly unique 14K yellow gold ring from the Retro era (circa 1940s) featuring six cabochons of natural fire opals from Mexico. These gorgeous and highly-prized gems measure from 9.2mm x 6.7mm to 8.8mm x 6mm. They display orange, orange-yellow sand orange-pink coloring. The dazzling gems weigh approximately 5.5 carats. The face of the ring measures 30mm x 28mm, so it's an impressive and bold ring. The interior is marked for 14K gold but there is no maker's mark. Yet the production quality is extraordinary. The gold metalwork is expertly executed and very whimsical and creative. This bold, flashy, and fun ring is a size 7 and you're jeweler could resize it for you.
