A mid-century sapphire and diamond dress-set, consisting of a pair of cufflinks and four buttons, each with a quatrefoil design, centrally set with a carré-cut diamond surrounded by four calibré-cut sapphires, the diamonds estimated to weigh 1.2 carats in total, the sapphires estimated to weigh approximately 25 carats in total, accompanied by GCS Report stating to be natural with no indication of heating, mounted in white gold, the cufflinks connected with bars marked 14ct gold, circa 1950, each link measuring 1.3cm in diameter, gross weight 26.1 grams. This vintage dress-set is in very good condition for its age. Marked and tested as 14ct gold. This stunning dress-set features a pair of cufflinks and four buttons all set with deep blue sapphires which surround a single sparkling diamond to form a quatrefoil design, meaning ‘’four leaves’’. The quatrefoil enjoyed popularity during the Gothic and Renaissance eras and cufflinks were the hight of the fashion during the 1950s.
