Superb cufflinks in 18K yellow gold with natural white and gray pearls by Jean Dinh Van for Pierre Cardin. For his very first commission after leaving Cartier, Dinh Van designed these "Three Pearl" cufflinks along with the legendary "Two Pearl" ring in 1967 for Pierre Cardin. While other cufflinks in this design occasionally come available, these are especially noteworthy thanks to the excellent original condition of the pearls. Each cufflink features one white and two gray cultured pearls that are approximately 7.5mm in diameter. All six pearls rotate smoothly on their axes. The cufflink faces measure 17.4 by 9.1mm; the nearly square backs are 9.8mm by 8.9mm. Together the cufflinks weigh 8.25 grams. The cufflinks are signed "P Cardin," 18K and multiple workshop marks. They also bear the French eagle head assay mark indicating solid, 18K gold. Truly exceptional and stylish cufflinks that epitomize Dinh Van's modern, sophisticated vision.
