Vintage Mid-Century David Andersen Cufflinks Four Seasons Enamel Silver Gilt

About the Item

These exquisite and high quality mid-century cufflinks were designed by Thorbjørn Lie-Jørensen in the late 1950's for David Andersen of Norway. These cufflinks are one pair of a series of 'four seasons' of cufflinks, the autumn enamelled on gilt sterling silver in rich yellow, orange and brown hues. The Norwegian painter Thorbjørn Lie-Jørensen (1900-1961) was a trained goldsmith as well as a trained painter. He studied at the National College of Art and Design and at the National Academy of Fine Art in Oslo. As from 1927 he joined the workshop of David Andersen as a Designer where he remained until 1939, when he became Head of Department of Oslo's National College of Art and Design. He continued to work as freelance designer for David Anderson.
