A scarce and wonderful find, these vintage Norman Hartnell earrings are beautifully designed and evocative of an era that proved sensational for couture. Made during the 1950s, these Hartnell cocktail earrings draw upon clever design to pack in a wonderful array of crystals. Fancy cut, diamond shaped, peridot crystals are framed with clear baguette crystals. The light green of the peridot glass crystals beautifully offsetting with the white. A demure and oh so elegant pair of earrings that carry a world of fashion history right into the 21st Century. An exquisite find for a collector or to enjoy. Dubbed 'The First Fashion Knight' London Couturier, Sir Norman Hartnell, was the star of London's couture during the interwar years. His work as dressmaker to the British royal family earned him international fame. In his autobiography he describes the most momentous commission of his career to be the Coronation dress of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. A now legendary British fashion story. Hartnell's costume jewellery pieces, especially intricate pieces with coloured fancy cut stones and in excellent condition are scarce. Vintage Condition: Very good without damage or noteworthy wear.
