The inspiration for these earrings comes from interpretive traditions of Modernist art and ancient techniques of manual jewelry making, such as granulation, fusing, metal forming, and chain weaving. These techniques were introduced by pre-Classical Sumerian, Mycenaean and Minoan cultures and built upon during Greek Classical and Hellenistic periods when naturalistic forms were introduced. My designs are influenced by the skill and the laborious attention to detail paid by the artisans throughout thousands of years of jewelry making. One-of-a-kind. By mixing it with fine silver and copper, I bring it down to 21K gold concentration. 21K gold is more durable than 22K but does not take away from a luscious 22K color. ---Rutilated Quartz ***A transparent Quartz with golden yellow Rutile inclusions that are in hairlike growths. The Rutile inclusions range from thin, sparse, and parallel, to thick, dense, and crisscrossed, and everything in-between. Each Rutilated Quartz gemstone is unique in its pattern of Rutile inclusions. ---sapphire cabochons ***Cabochons are polished stones, not faceted ---faceted tourmalines Entirely handmade jewelry.
