Antique Victorian 18K Gold Ruby & Pearl Engraved Bracelet, Brooch & Earrings Set
About the Item
An antique suite of jewellery, comprising a bracelet, brooch / pendant, and a pair of earrings, each set with a cushion shaped ruby and seed pearls, 18 karat yellow gold throughout.
This striking antique jewellery suite is truly beautiful to behold, made even more special by the fact that each piece has survived, and is still presented in its original Royal blue velvet and silk lined fitted case. The bracelet is set to the front with a circular motif, elegantly engraved around the edge with heart shapes and rows of tulips. At the centre is a claw set cushion shaped ruby, surrounded by 8 claw set pearls. The claws of the settings create an unusual floral design. The bracelet opens on a hinge and is fitted with a secure box clasp. The brooch is similarly set, with a locket compartment verso, and a jump ring has been added to enable it to be worn as a pendant. The closed-back earrings feature the same engraved design around the edge and are set with a smaller cushion shaped ruby and 6 seed pearls each. The earrings have been fitted with substantial hook fittings for elegant wear. This suite of jewellery has a bloomed gold finish, resulting in a fine layer of pure gold at the surface of the jewellery, giving a soft, matte effect. The suite is in good condition, with a few small dings to the bracelet, and to the back of one earring. Wear and tear acquiescent with age.
