When a touch of glimmer and shimmer is enough to make you smile, this pair Georgian foiled paste earrings of approximately 1.50 Cts each fills the promise. They are in a rare and highly desirable shape and one of our favorite go to earrings for every day or evening. The earrings are good and bright, and foiled so that they would shine like diamonds in candlelight. Set in silver cushion back closed settings, they were, as all paste drops were once, buttons on the clothing of the aristocracy. Oh those aristocrats, they were the only economic class to own jewelry. Paste was not an imitation gem but a highly specialized art form. Royalty had their private paste makers who would not share their formula. These are in excellent condition. The drops hand 1/2 inch from the lobe. They measure just over 1/4 inch wide. A weightless 2 grams.
