About the Item
Inspired by the popular antique arcade game 'Snake', the Pipa Earrings are a comical reflection of our modern life. The 'snake' manoeuvres in a line that grows in length. With the line itself being a primary obstacle, it aims to grow and avoid running into itself. If we take a step back and compare the game to modern life, we can see a comical similarity between the two.
The Pipa Earrings combine semi-precious stone and hand-painted enamel to create an Art-Deco and architectural style of jewellery. Edward took inspiration from Brutalism architecture and Cubism art to create a truly avant-garde and unique style of jewellery.
The Pipa Earrings are made-to-order items handcrafted using 100% recycled 18k rose gold. The gemstones are natural, ethically sourced and carefully selected by designer and founder Edward Xu, then set by hand in our London workshop. Each enamel block is hand-painted by our artisans with great precision. The earrings are tested and hallmarked by the London Assay office.
