About the Item
Inspired by the popular antique arcade game 'Snake', the Cobra Ring is a comical reflection of our modern life. The 'snake' manoeuvres in a line that grows in length. With the line itself being a primary obstacle, it aims to grow and avoid running into itself. If we take a step back and compare the game to modern life, we can see a comical similarity between the two.
Edward took inspiration from Cubism art and Brutalism architecture to create a truly unique and avant-garde style of jewellery. The Cobra Ring combines semi-precious stone and hand-painted enamel to create an architectural and Art-Deco style of jewellery. The design portrays a snake chasing its tail yet never touching it, just like the game.
The Cobra Ring is a made-to-order item handcrafted using 100% recycled 18k rose gold. The marquise-cut morganite is natural, ethically sourced and carefully selected by designer and founder Edward Xu, then set by hand in our London workshop. Each enamel block is hand-painted by our artisans with great precision. This bangle is tested and hallmarked by the London Assay office. The ring features an open-ended design which allows you to adjust the size slightly.
