About the Item
A pair of Art Deco diamond drop earrings by Peyret & Cie, each earring with a large old brilliant-cut diamond each estimated to weigh 2 carats and assessed to be of I-J colour and SI clarity, each finely millegain-set in a platinum collet with openwork gallery and suspended from a Swiss and old-cut diamond-set top of geometric design, the small diamonds estimated to weigh a further total of 0.60 carats, all millegrain-set in platinum mount with gold posts and alpha-type fittings, bearing French marks for platinum and 18ct gold, and makers marks for Peyret & Cie, circa 1930, measuring 3.4 x 0.9cm, gross weight 5.2 grams.

This splendidly stylish pair of Art Deco diamond drop earrings by Peyret & Cie comes from the collection of Bentley & Skinner, the distinguished London jewellers by royal appointment to His Majesty the King. Each earring features a shiny old-cut diamond suspended from a geometric design decorated with small diamonds, enhancing a whole sparkly allure. Crafted by the esteemed Parisian jewellery company Peyret & Cie, with roots dating back to 1812 when Raymond Sabe established the business, specializing in manufacturing and trading gold jewellery. Over time, the company evolved, embracing the Art Deco style and gaining renowned for their mastery in incorporating diamonds into their designs. Eventually, the company transitioned to Peyret & Cie, under the ownership of Reymond’s nephew Eugène, who kept creating jewellery adorned with diamonds as exemplified by these dazzling earrings. A stylish testament to a renowned jewellery legacy.
