About the Item
Two variegated 17 x 37 mm curved trillium shaped cabochons of Javanese Blue Opalized Petrified Wood are set in simple brushed 18K bezels suspended below safety-clasp 18K ear wires. This is a relatively new stone in the market that comes from 20 million years old fossilized ancient teak forests in West Java. Substantial pieces, and very beautiful color!

Steven Battelle
After a chance trip to SouthEast Asia in 1987, Steven Battelle became fascinated with the jewelry and iconology from the ancient cultures of Egypt, Mesopotamia, Greece, and Asia. Eventually forming a partnership with a dedicated group of Balinese village goldsmiths using painstaking handmade techniques, they together create unique designs that incorporate those timeless and classic motifs. He incorporates primarily cabochon gemstones as well as ancient Greek and Roman coins, each piece capturing the feelings of a bygone age.
