Vintage 6.00 Carat Diamond and Amethyst Drop Earrings, c.1950s
About the Item
A phenomenal pair of vintage drop earrings composed of diamonds and amethysts. A fabulous pair of old cut diamonds weighing 3.00 carat each are rub over set on the bottom section of each earring. They have been graded as I-J in colour and VS1 in clarity. Surrounding the large diamonds is a cluster of various shaped amethysts, alternating with an outer edge of diamonds. A combination of eight cut and old cut diamonds have been used, totalling to 2.30 carats for both earrings. The amethysts are a lively purple colour and have a combined weight of 2.40 carats. Although these fabulous earrings date back to the 1950's, they have very much been designed with the Art Deco era in mind. They have been crafted entirely in platinum and have been fitted with alpha backs for comfort and extra security.
