These Fig cocktail earrings feature detachable cabochon smoky quartz drops and are made of 18 karat yellow gold. The gems have a beautiful cognac color and are designed to allow light to pass through them. The earrings were featured in Vogue UA.
The idea to create a jewelry collection inspired by her favorite fruits came to the Berlin-based artist, Polya Medvedeva, while she was exploring fragrances with sweet and fresh notes of fig. The collection has become a mascot for those who adore fragrances or the sunny places where this fruit grows. The simplicity of the lines and the large gemstone make these earrings both contemporary and classy. The cabochon smoky quartz drops can work differently with different outfits - they can add spaciness to a strict black dress or shift to elegance with a colorful outfit.
The sugar fig fruit is an equivalent of the bible's forbidden apples. In the garden of paradise, fig leaves were the only clothing for the first humans. The fig is one of the sacred trees in ancient myths and symbolizes peace, fertility, generosity, and the richness of life. The cognac color of the gems also gives these earrings a little grungy attitude.
