Bohemian Rhapsody: Antique Garnet Brooch & Earrings in Box
About the Item
In domes of fire and intensity, row after row of dark claret colored garnets interspersed with tiny natural seed pearls are pavé set around a large centered cabochon pyrope garnet bounded with a ring of natural seed pearls all in rose gold over silver. The earrings display the original back to front ear wires and the brooch its original tube hinge and C-clasp.
Date: Circa 1880.
Measurements: Brooch is 1-1/16 inches (2.6 cm) in diameter and weighs 11.8 grams (7.6 dwt).
Earrings are 11/16 of an inch (1.7 cm) in length with ear wire by 1/2 of an inch (1.3 cm) in diameter. Weight for the pair is 4.2 grams (2.7 dwt).
