Pair of Victorian Jasmine Petal Diamond Earrings
About the Item
A pair of Victorian jasmine diamond earrings, each in the design of a five-petalled diamond encrusted jasmine head with a central old brilliant-cut diamond, the diamonds estimated to weigh a total of approximately 5 carats, all cut-down set in silver to a yellow gold mount and pin and scroll fitting, circa 1840, measuring approximately 26x25mm, gross weight 8.10 grams.
A pair of Victorian diamond earrings in very good condition. Unmarked tested as silver front, 15ct gold back and 18ct gold posts.
This lovely pair of earrings comes from the collection of Bentley & Skinner, the London jewellers by appointment to both Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales. These early Victorian earrings are wonderfully crafted in the shape of magnificent jasmine flowers, evoking naturalism and romance. The diamonds are lively and glittering, and these earrings are a lovely and eye-catching statement piece.
