A One-of-a-Kind Ametrine in a Fancy Round Design from Our Rough/Cutter!
About the Item
A Lively Blended Natural Ametrine in a Fancy Round Design weighing 13.18cts. This particular gemstone was faceted from our rough by one of our Specialty Cutters, creating this unique, brilliant, lively multi-colored beauty! Our rough is hand picked from the Ametrine producing mine on the Bolivian/Brazilian border by the mine owner himself, as he knows what material we seek and it is not commonly found as the rough will typically facet just Amethyst, Citrine or what most people see out there on the retail market, the 50/50 Emerald cut split. Also, we seek the more saturated colors vs. the more common washed out light material in the retail market - the cost of inexpensive material is in the cutting, not the rough, the rough is essentially free since it is common. We patiently await the fine quality rough which may be a long time in waiting since it is more rare to find.
Our specialty cutter creates a design in his software and constantly tweaks the indexes/angles/facets until he comes up with a design that creates the brilliant effect he seeks and that we mandate - something brilliant, unique and in the case of Ametrine, something that will give us beautiful and wondrous play of color - as in this gemstone! The design is somewhat related to a design out there called Cleopatra's Eye.
Enjoy the photos and video. Note that this design is meant to be worn and to be in motion with the person moving around so that the sparkle and color flashes are constantly moving and changing. This piece would be great for pendant or ring.
