An exquisite and unusual regal tiara from the early Victorian (ca1850s) era! This beautiful and rare piece is crafted in sterling silver and 18kt yellow gold and adorns two tremblé style diamond flower aigrette's which sprout up on either side of a small compartment designed to hold feathers. The fabulous flowers carry a 3-dimensional design with overlapping petals, each encrusted with old Mine and Rose Cut diamonds, and a single old Mine Cut stone which is set prominently at the center. The flowers rest at the end of a long, flat 18kt yellow gold wire which has a slight spring to it, allowing each to have beautiful yet subtle movement when worn. Found along the wire, at the base of each flower, is a cluster of four accent leaves each adorning a single diamond. The curved base of the tiara is crafted in sterling silver and has loops at the ends for easy pinning. It fits perfectly around a hair bun or would look lovely fitted with another styled hair design. Found at the center of the sterling base and right where the gold wires meet is a small box compartment which one would place egret or another type of feather(s). The tiara is in excellent condition and comes in the original antique leather box...
