AJD 16 Inch Highly Polished Smoky Quartz and Gold Choker Necklace
About the Item
Custom made choker necklace of highly polished free form Smoky Quartz with gold tone accents. This unique 16 inch choker necklace is a pleasure to wear. The glowing Smoky Quartz are accented with our favorite gold tone flutters and a gold vermeil toggle clasp. Smoky Quartz is a variant of the Quartz mineral family which ranges in color from a light gray to darker gray/brown/black and can be transparent to barely translucent. It is the national gem of Scotland, and sacred to the Druids in Celtic cultures. Hecate, the ancient Greek goddess was also associated with Smoky Quartz. Smoky Quartz is thought to help one become balanced and grounded especially with a chaotic life. Adding to the appeal of the necklace, the transparent Smoky Quartz are not uniform in size, but are approximately 18x10x5 MM.

With over 20 years of experience and a passion for travel, Martha and Kathy create bespoke jewelry with curated gemstones from their adventures around the world. Martha lived in Brazil for over 15 years and her travels have taken her to various mining regions within Brazil, South Africa, and the Far East to examine and handpick the gemstones for the Aria Collections. Kathy lives by the motto, "Go Big or Go Home," and fell in love with jewelry design when she met founder Hans Stern, a pioneer in designing jewelry with Brazil's vibrantly colored gemstones, Mr. Stern invited her to his workroom, shared his expertise - and she was hooked. Martha and Kathy met while living in Rio de Janeiro and they have been design partners and friends ever since.
