AJD Iridescent Paua Shell Short Necklace Accented with Amethyst and Apatite
About the Item
Choker necklace of Paua Shell, also known as Abalone, with accents of Tumbled Purple Amethyst and Faceted Teal Apatite. The Paua Shell is multi colored including blue, teal, green, pink, gray, purple, and black. The beautiful swirling designs are unique on each shell. The center focal measures 57x35 MM and the necklace shells are 27x18 MM. The necklace is secured with a silver tone box clasp and is 17.25 inches in length.
Amethyst is the February birthstone and is said to protect from intoxication and evil spells. It will calm your spirit and give you focus. Pure quartz is colorless, but the most prized variety is Amethyst, the purple variety. It's always been considered a 'royal color' and is featured in the British Crown jewels. It was also a favorite of Catherine the Great and Egyptian royalty. For centuries this beautiful gemstone has been considered a symbol of power. All this and being absolutely beautiful, what's not to love, the prized velvety richness of purple is so gorgeous.

Kathy lives by the motto, "Go Big or Go Home," and fell in love with jewelry design when she met founder Hans Stern, a pioneer in designing jewelry with Brazil's vibrantly colored gemstones, Mr. Stern invited her to his workroom, shared his expertise - and she was hooked. Martha and Kathy met while living in Rio de Janeiro and they have been design partners and friends ever since.
