About the Item

A striking Vintage DeMario Bronze Necklace from the late 1940s with craftsmanship that exudes exceptional workmanship and detail. Robert De Mario founded his company in New York City in 1945 and previously honed his craft working for the legendary Miriam Haskell. De Mario works are typically characterized by intricate designs and excellent craftsmanship and this piece is no exception. Layers of bronze, amber, cappuccino and chocolate brown beads abound and if you look closely, you see the detail of the shapes and facets including melon cut amber beads. A delight! DeMario jewellery is relatively rare and sought-after. De Mario closed his eponymous brand and shop in 1965 after twenty incredible years and a lasting legacy. Vintage Condition: Very good overall without wear that would be noticeable when worn. Plate loss to the clasp, a couple of the pearls have nicks but overall the pearls are in excellent condition for a piece made around 70 years ago.
