About the Item
This vintage pearl necklace was crafted sometime during the Mid Century design period (1940-1960). The Mid Century or “Retro” design period was the golden age of cultured pearls. There might not be any other gem so absolutely iconic to the 1950’s and 60’s. Mid Century films like Rear Window (1954) featured Grace Kelly wearing exceptionally exquisite pearl strands in almost every scene. During the Mid Century period cultured pearls were more accessible and more desirable than ever before. This gorgeous strand features approximately 26 inches of 7.5 mm cream colored cultured pearls. 7.5 mm is a great mid sized pearl, sure to compliment any jewelry collection. Each pearl in the strand features a good luster and complexion. The 14K gold realistic floral bloom clasp features a large center pearl surrounded by 12 tiny sparkling diamonds. We love the clasp’s luxurious contrasting finish. The finish gives beautiful depth and dimension to the sculpted floral bloom. No detail was spared. The clasp features a hidden brooch pin on the backside, making sure the piece stays forward facing at all times. This vintage pearl necklace features an easy to use push button clasp closure along with safety latch.
