About the Item
An early Victorian peridot and gold parure in the Knight pattern, the necklace consisting of three plaques each set with five cushion shape faceted peridots set in a stamped gold eclectic design surround, attached to a chain consisting of sixteen round links alternating with foliate design links in-between, the oval-shaped brooch set with five cushion shape faceted peridots on a matching eclectic design background and the earrings of similar design each set with three cushion and one pear-shape faceted peridots, the peridots weighing a total of 12.73 carats, all rubover set in yellow gold mounts, circa 1840, the necklace 48.5cm long and 1.1cm wide with the central element to be approximately 3x3cm size, earrings 6.4cm long, the brooch measures 2.7x3.9cm, gross weight 76.3 grams, with original fitted box.
This stunning early Victorian parure comes from the collection of Bentley & Skinner, the London jewellers by appointment to both Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales. This three-piece suite features a matching set of necklace, earrings, and brooch. This parure is exquisitely ornate, made in a style emblematic of the early Victorian period, when inspiration came from the Medieval and Renaissance periods. The bright, pale green peridot contrasts wonderfully with the rich yellow gold setting of this parure. The chain is detailed, and the settings of the peridot on the necklace, earrings, and brooch are regal and ornamental. All pieces in this set can be worn together for a dramatic and sumptuous look, or each piece can be donned separately.
Should you choose to make this purchase we will delighted to send it to you in a Bentley & Skinner handmade leather case packed in a gift-wrapped Bentley & Skinner black and gold presentation box. Shortly afterwards we will send you on a valuation for insurance purposes for your reference and safekeeping.
