1980s Judith Hendler Acrylic Ring Necklace with Purple Pendant
About the Item
Fabulous 1980s Judith Hendler tube ring necklace with hanging purple acrylic pendant. The bright purple rectangular pendant is faceted on the sides and it hangs from a flat silver link. The necklace closes on the left side, the C-ring hooks into the O-ring for secure and easy wearing. An iconic Judith Hendler piece, a must have for a serious collector.

Judith Hendler
Judith Hendler was already a nationally known artist before she started making her unique lucite jewelry. Her paper sculptures were exhibited all over California and in New York City. Hendler, Los Angeles-born, began making jewelry from her husband's discarded acrylic extrusions left over from the manufacture of aircraft windshields and cockpit canopies. Hendler's jewelry distributed under the name Acri-Gems Inc., her brand was soon being sold at Bonwit Teller, Saks Fifth Avenue, Etc. Specifically noted was a piece worn by actresses Joan Collins on the Television series Dynasty in 1985.
