Vintage Mexican Taxco 970 Silver Tree Branch Necklace by Don Filiberto Gomez

About the Item

A fine, signed Taxco neckpiece. By Don Filiberto Gomez. In .970 fine silver. In the form of a tree branch shaped to comfortably hang around the neck. Gomez was a highly regarded Taxco silversmith active in the 20th Century, who worked for Antonio Pineda. Gomez's skill was such that he was one of the handful of master silversmiths that Pineda trusted to faithfully execute his designs. Filiberto is succeeded by his son Iganacio 'Nacho' Gomez, who is an award-winning silversmith and lauded artist in his own right. Marked to the end of the branch for F. Gomez / 970 / Taxco Mexico. Simply a wonderful piece of silver from one of Taxco's Mid-Century masters! Date: 20th Century Overall Condition: It is in overall good, as-pictured, used estate condition. Condition Details: There is small indentation to the branch near one of the ends. Otherwise, there is some light edge wear, some fine & light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age. Maker: Don Filiberto Gomez Marks: Marked to the end for F.
