Antique French Enamel Portrait Miniature Mourning Pendant Pearls

A fine and impressive 2.90 carat aquamarine, seed pearl and 15 karat yellow gold pendant; part of our diverse antique jewelry collections. This impressive aquamarine pendant has been crafted in 15k yellow gold. The pendant is ornamented with a total of four collet set aquamarines in a combination of pear and round cuts, totalling 2.90 carats. The round cut aquamarine is set to the apex of a collect set seed pearl, featuring a paired leaf design to the nadir ornamented with further seed pearls. Three linear drops suspend from the paired leaf design, each accented with a collet set pearl and terminating with a pear cut aquamarine. The aquamarine pendant in gold is suspended from a 15k yellow gold 40.64cm/16" trace chain via two integrated ring loop attachments to the upper border of the design, securing with a conventional spring-loaded bolt ring fastening. This pendant is hallmarked to the reverse of the setting with the mark for 15k yellow gold (15). This fine and impressive antique pendant has been crafted in 18k gold. The French pendant displays a central oval shaped enamel panel which features the profile of a lady in vibrant metallic blue, white and yellow clothing, against a red background. This central enamel panel is surrounded by an unembellished 18k yellow gold frame. The central setting is surrounded by a completely separate unembellished halo design. The enamel panel is secured in place within the halo design with eight evenly placed supports. The pendant is signed to the reverse with the maker's mark 'Bardonnaud, Limoges'.
