About the Item

Smart and tailored gutta percha necklace or collar, tie it on and walk away. Gutta percha is a black or brown hard rubber like material made from the sap of a Malayan tree. In the late Victorian period it was molded in various forms to make jewelry. Gutta Percha is so quintessentially Victorian you know when you find a piece of jewelry made from this material it can only be Victorian. Gutta Percha was not used much before, and has not been used to create jewelry since. The gutta percha part measures 13" but with the tie it measures closer to 15 ½ inches around, and is by 1 1/4" at its widest.
