About the Item

Scandinavian design at her best! This magnificent modernist articulated necklace made of silver, partly bronzed. Designed by one of the most prominent Swedish silversmith : Inga-Britt "Ibe" Dahlquist (1924-1996). Works by Ibe Dahlquist Exhibited : "Nutidssmycken", Nationalmuseum Stockholm 1959 "The International Exhibition of Modern Jewellery", Goldsmiths Hall London 1961 "Form fantasi", Liljevalchs konsthall, Stockholm 1964 Ibe Dahlquist (1924–1996) was a pioneering Swedish silversmith celebrated for her modernist, nature-inspired jewelry. After studying at Konstfack, Sweden's School of Arts, Crafts, and Design, she opened a workshop in Visby with Olov Barve, her collaborator for nearly 30 years. Known for using unconventional materials like Gotland stones and fossils, she challenged traditional notions of fine jewelry. Her designs gained international recognition at the 1961 "International Exhibition of Modern Jewellery" in London. In 1965, she joined Georg Jensen, creating elegant pieces with rhythmic patterns. Dahlquist's work is featured in museums including Stockholm's National Museum and London's British Museum
