About the Item
Opal and diamond negligée necklace. Centrally set with an oval cabochon natural opal in a open back rubover setting with an approximate weight of 3.90 carats, further set with two oval cabochon natural opals in open back rubover settings with a combined weight of 2.95 carats, decorated with seventy-five cushion shape old mine diamonds in open back rubover and grain settings with a combined approximate weight of 2.20 carats, and further adorned with four round rose cut diamonds in open back grain settings with a combined weight of 0.04 carats. The total approximate opal weight is 6.85 carats and the total approximate diamond weight is 2.24 carats, to an elegant negligée necklace flowing with movement featuring millegrain edging, an intricate gallery and fancy shape open backholing, fitted with a fine fancy link chain that flows through to a secure push clasp, pendant approximately 6cm in length, chain approximately 15" in length. Pendant marked 15 carat yellow gold and platinum, chain tested platinum, circa 1905, accompanied by original fitted box.
