William DeLillo 1970s Mesh Ribbon & Tassel Brooch & Pendant Necklace
About the Item
Presented is a wonderful and unique design 1970s necklace by William DeLillo. The rope twist necklace is .38 of an inch wide. It is comprised of two thinner gold tone woven mesh hollow strands twisted together. Each end has a fancy filigree cap end. The clasp is a large jump ring. The show stopper of the necklace is the large matching gold tone woven mesh with metallic tassels pendant. The pendant may be removed from the strand and worn independently as a brooch. The ribbon measures 1.5 inches wide with the 8 tassels laying approximately 3 inches wide when worn. The length or drop is 7.5 inches. The tassels have an antique gold finish and made of very thin twisted metallic thread. The top of the ribbon has a .63 of an inch wide accent of a faux Roman coin with the profile of the goddess Minerva and her name. Minerva is the Roman goddess of wisdom, poetry, justice, victory and the sponsor of the arts. The back of the ribbon pendant has a fancy filigree disk with the pin backing and the oval signature plaque inscribed deLillo in script. Very very fine condition.
