Modern Handcrafted Ivy Leaves Necklace Sterling Silver Green Enamel
About the Item
This fabulous ivy necklace was handcrafted out of 925 silver in the early years of the twenty-first century. Because of fine quality of the enamel the necklace to be worn on both sides.
Master goldsmith Detlev Volckmann was born in 1949 in Essen, Westphalia. He started his apprenticeship in 1966 by Alfons Mock in Essen. He graduated in 1969. He worked for the New York and Düsseldorf based jewellers Schmitt und Steib before obtaining his master degree in 1971.
Although in Germany the use of lower grade silver is more common, Detlef Volckmann told me that he uses silver of sterling quality because it brings more intensity to the enamelled colours.
