Victorian Old mine cut Diamond and Persian Turquoise Necklace Silver/18K gold
About the Item
Gorgeous statement to the opulence of the Victorian Era. This necklace is in great wearable condition considering it's age. It is made from silver and 18K yellow gold (not stamped but tested with state of the art alloy identifying equipment). Necklace weighs a substantial 115 grams and measures 17" long. I will be describing each segment as a "medallion". Starting with the clasp medallion - it is set with old Rose cut diamonds and they are the smallest in this necklace, 25 of them. Next: three graduated medallions on each side set with 124 Old mine cut diamonds measuring from 2.5mm to 3.5mm in diameter. Spacer diamonds measuring from 3.5-4.5MM in diameter. Then pear shape medallions set with 16 diamonds each. The focal point of this necklace is horizontal oval medallion encrusted with 22 diamonds (four stones are bigger then the rest). Each segment separated with Pear Shape Cut diamond dangling spacer. According to "modern" diamond carat weight calculation formula - they are: 0.77, 0.94, 0.89 and 0.83CT - but being an OLD Mine Cut diamonds probably weigh 12-18% more. The grand total for the diamond carat weight could be 50.00CT plus (Diamond color G-H-I and VS to I1 clarity). I would like to mention the Natural Persian Turquoise - you can see the "matrix" on the back side of the Turquoise.
