Early Georgian Pink Topaz Necklace and Earring Demi-Parure Set
About the Item
A demi-parure, "parure" meaning "adorn" in French, is a partial set of matching jewelry designed to be worn en suite. This incredible handcrafted pink topaz necklace and earring set is from the early Georgian (ca1750s) era and comprised of a riviera style necklace and a pair of complementary day-to-night earrings.
The necklace features 41 graduated and faceted oval-shaped pink topaz stones that look stunning against their 18kt yellow gold, foil-back collet settings. The glittering topaz stones display various shades of pale to light pinks, each link encircled by a brilliant beaded sunburst motif. A secure clasp is incorporated into the design, hidden beneath a pink topaz link, and a hidden hook bail is found behind the central link. The necklace drapes beautifully against the wearer's neckline, creating a fantastic and regal appeal when worn.
The earrings begin with an oval-shaped pink topaz stone, set in an East-to-West style. Feminine cannetille wirework and small gold beads with a finely stippled texture decorate the surmount, each securing to the ear by back-to-front European wires. An elaborate teardrop-shaped link, the day-to-night conversion, hangs below and adorns matching wirework and textured accents along with five vibrant pink topaz stones. These dangling teardrop accents may be removed from the surmounts for a daytime look and additionally, one may be attached to the discrete hook bail on the necklace to create an even more ornate neckline! This magnificent set is truly exceptional and it would be a fabulous addition to any Georgian collection!
The necklace measures approximately 16" in total length. The pink topaz links range from about 5/16" by 1/4" at their smallest to 5/8 tall by 1/2" at the center. Each "day" portion of the earring design hangs 9/16" long and is 1/2" wide. The "night" portion of the cannetille teardrop link is about 1 7/16" long and 5/8" at its widest point. When worn together, the earrings hang just under 2" in total length.

- Georgian Berlin Iron and Mirrored Cut Steel Necklace and Earring SetLocated in Narberth, PABerlin iron jewelry was produced in Germany by the Berlin Royal Foundry beginning in 1804. Previously, iron jewelry had been worn primarily during periods of mourning due to the dark color of its black lacquer finish. However, it reached a high point of popularity between 1813 and 1830. To fund the War of Liberation against Napolean, citizens were asked to donate their precious gold in exchange for iron jewelry. The Berlin iron jewelry was sometimes inscribed with a portrait of Frederick William III of Prussia, or with the words "Gold gab ich für Eisen" (meaning "I gave gold for iron") or "Für das Wohl des Vaterlands" ("For the welfare of our country/fatherland"). Almost overnight, Berlin iron jewelry became a symbol of patriotism. Its beautiful fabrication and lacy appearance gave it widespread appeal, eventually reaching popularity in numerous European countries. Authentic Berlin iron jewelry is now very rare, and well-preserved pieces have become very collectible! Cut steel jewelry originated in England in the 17th century and subsequently spread throughout Europe, eventually becoming a popular style of jewelry worn by members of high society during the Victorian era. Made of polished faceted steel studs, the pieces were cut by hand and then assembled and riveted onto a metal back. The faceted steel elements give this type of jewelry a subtle, metallic glitter that resembles cut gemstones. Motifs varied from the simple to the sublime, with multiple layers and densely packed studs. The time-consuming process and the artistry required to create cut steel jewelry made it very valuable and highly sought-after during the Victorian age, particularly to wear during the stage of "secondary mourning." Produced up until the turn of the 19th century, antique cut steel jewelry is now highly collectible. An exceptional Berlin iron and cut steel necklace and earring set from the Georgian (ca1804) era! Crafted in fine Berlin ironwork with delicate cut steel studs and mirrored steel plaques throughout, this well-preserved ensemble is an incredible work of art. The ornate necklace adorns various sized iron-backed links topped with mirrored steel plaques, each one connected together by intricate, lacy Berlin ironwork. The largest link rests at the center, and features an oval-shaped mirrored steel plaque on the front that is adorns a raised iron cameo...Category

- Spectra Fine Jewelry Black Diamond Necklace Earrings Demi Parure SuiteBy Spectra Fine JewelryLocated in New York, NYIt may come as a surprise that many have argued black diamonds are much more rare than colorless diamonds. One in 10,000 natural diamonds is classed as fancy colored, and only a handful are truly black. Natural Black diamonds are somewhat different from most other diamonds in that they are entirely opaque. However, like colorless diamonds, black diamonds sparkle rainbow colors when their light is deflected to other surfaces. In other words, colors shoot from the diamond when direct sunlight hits the stone. Interestingly, black diamonds symbolize justice and inner strength while representing courage to stand out from the crowd. The carat weight of this Spectra Fine Jewelry Black Diamond Demi-Parure Suite is quite dazzling at an estimated 270 carats. The suite, made in the 21st century, circa 2010s, comprises two pieces—a necklace and a pair of button earrings. The 17.75-inch (45.08 cm) necklace is constructed like a classic strand of pearls, featuring a single knotted strand of 61 graduated black diamond faceted beads ranging in size from approximately 7.00 mm to 11.15 mm. The gross weight is 53.2 grams. The closure at the back is comprised of two parts crafted in 18K white gold—a round metal bead and a pop clasp that seamlessly integrates with the design. The necklace has the eye-catching elegance of a strand of Tahitian pearls, which are similarly more extensive, ranging from 8 mm to 11 mm, like these beads. This black diamond strand can be evaluated according to five of the seven value factors in evaluating pearls and earns 5 out of 5 exquisite marks in size, shape, color, surface quality, and matching, except luster and nacre quality, the substance from which pearls are made that determines luster. These black diamond faceted beads are much blacker and with subtly dramatic sparkle instead of luster. And, of course, they are diamonds with unique and extraordinary beauty, exuding drama and luxury. Although they are fully saturated stones, they still have that sparkle special only to diamonds, more so than other black stones like spinel or onyx. The lovely button earrings are crafted in 18K white gold with clip-back closures and measure .88 inches (2.22 cm) in length. The earrings feature a pair of faceted pear shape black diamonds bezel-set with the thinnest of outlines separating the principal stone from its lovely pear-shaped halo. The halo is comprised of round brilliant-cut black diamonds set with prongs. The gross weight of the earrings is 11.7 grams. The pear shape is classic, and its facets pick up the facets of the necklace. As a black diamond pear...Category
